1. EastWest Credit Cards' Balance Transfer Facility allows qualified Cardholders to transfer the total outstanding balance, or a portion thereof, of their non-EastWest Credit Card to their EastWest Credit Card and pay on flexible installment terms.
  2. The Cardholder acknowledges that the Balance Transfer application will be subject to evaluation and approval.
  3. The Balance Transfer application is based on the Cardholder’s instructions and has no implication on his/ her relationship with any establishment or card issuer.
  4. Upon approval, the Cardholder’s application shall serve as his/her written authorization for EastWest to initiate payment of the Balance Transfer amount to the payment center or depository bank of the non-EastWest Credit Card issuer regardless of the actual outstanding balance of his/her non-EastWest Credit Card.
  5. The Cardholder shall attest to the correctness of the non-EastWest credit card number indicated in the Balance Transfer application and that EastWest shall not be liable for any erroneous payment/s made as a result of the Cardholder providing an incorrect non-EastWest credit card number.
  6. Upon approval of the Balance Transfer application, the Balance Transfer amount shall form part of the Cardholder’s Total Statement Balance and the fixed monthly installment amount will be billed to the Cardholder’s EastWest Credit Card account on his/her next and succeeding Statements of Account (SOAs) until the Balance Transfer amount is fully paid.
  7. A processing fee will be charged for each approved application.
    1. Php250 for each approved application via EastWest Online, EastWest Mobile and ESTA, our EastWest System Tech Assistant
    2. Php500 for each approved application via EastWest Customer Service
  8. EastWest has the sole discretion to approve or reject the Cardholder's Balance Transfer application. If such application is denied, EastWest has no obligation to furnish the Cardholder a notice or reason of such rejection. EastWest also has the sole discretion to approve only a portion of the installment amount applied for.
  9. The Cardholder's EastWest Credit Card account must be active and current at all times. In the event that the Cardholder's EastWest Credit Card is suspended, cancelled, or not renewed, or should the Cardholder fail to make payments, breach or violate the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of EastWest Credit Cards, the remaining unpaid Balance Transfer amount, as well as the entire outstanding balance of the Cardholder's EastWest Credit Card account, shall immediately become due and demandable.
  10. In case of partial payment by the Cardholder of the installment amount, the unpaid balance shall incur the usual finance charges imposed on revolving balances in accordance with the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of EastWest Credit Cards.
  11. If the Cardholder pays the installment amount in full per month but has an outstanding or revolving balance on his/her previous/other purchases or installment availments, his/her EastWest Credit Card account shall likewise incur finance charges.
  12. In case of pre-termination, the Cardholder agrees to pay an Installment Pre-termination Processing Fee equivalent to 5% of the remaining principal balance or Php500, whichever is higher.
  13. The Cardholder shall continue to be bound by and comply with the Terms and Conditions Governing the Issuance and Use of EastWest Credit Cards which are incorporated herein by reference and of which s/he was furnished copies by EastWest, as well as the Terms and Conditions of the Balance Transfer Facility.

Submission of Basic
Customer Credit Data to CIC

Pursuant to RA 9510 or the Credit Information System Act, EastWest Bank is mandated to submit basic customer credit data and its succeeding updates to the Credit Information Corporation (CIC).

The information will be used by financial institutions and credit reporting agencies authorized by the CIC in evaluating the creditworthiness of prospective and existing customers.
